Objective: SWBAT infer data about point charges based on the fields that they generate.
Warm UP: On a computer, go to http://www.cco.caltech.edu/~phys1/java/phys1/EField/EField.html
Read the directions on how to use the Electric Field Applet. Place two point charges on your screen where the one on the left is a negative charge and the one on the right is a positive charge. What do you see? Change the one on the left to a positive charge of the same magnitude as it was previously and leave the charge on the right alone. Now what do you see? Why so these two situations produce different electrical fields?
